SET ends up 0.69%

Thai shares on Wednesday broke the five trading day loss streak, closing up 0.69 per cent.



The SET index started the day with a sharp rise as investors took a clue from the strong gain in Wall Street and the regional stock market. Profit-taking, however, narrowed its gain to end the market at 866.03. Turnover was thin at Bt17.93 billion.

 Among most actives, PTT Plc (PTT) rose 1.7 per cent at Bt370, PTT Exploration and Production Plc (PTTEP) went down 0.6 per cent at Bt157, Bangkok Bank (BBL) surged 0.9 per cent at Bt118, Siam Cement Plc (SCC) was flat at Bt254, and Thoresen Thai Agencies Plc (TTA) gained 3.9 per cent at Bt66.50.
