Democrats open the election centre

The Democrat Party officially opens its coordinating centre for the December 23 election on Tuesday.

Hundreds of party members along with executives and MP candidates attend the event held at the party's headquarter in Sam Sen, Bangkok.

Democrat leader Abhisit Vejjajiva addresses the crowd that candidates and party's members involving in the party's election campaigns should be strict to its policies of "People's Agenda" that should be introduced to voters.

Although the Democrats want to win the poll, they should follow the rules that money politics would not get involved in a victory, Abhisit said. The people expect a higher standard of politicians, so the party should play a key role in the process to reach that goal, he said.
