TPC shows 26% increase in quarter earnings

Thai Plastic and Chemicals Plc showed Bt1.04 billion in consolidated net profit in the third quarter, an increase of Bt213 million or 26 per cent year on year.

The company contributed the increase to the rising sales volume and the wider gap of selling price and main raw materials.

In the statement to the Stock Exchange of Thailand, the company said its sales and services income in the quarter stood at Bt8.34 billion, an increae of Bt1.6 billion or 24 per cent. In the quarter, its PVC production line No.9 commenced operations. The selling price also rose year on year.

For the first nine months, the consolidated revenue stood at Bt21 billion, an increase of Bt2.684 billion or 14 per cent. In the nine months, its consolidated net profit was Bt1.685 billion, down Bt383 million or 19 per cent. The company said the profits were mainly affected by the decrease in earnings of subsidiaries and associated companies together with the increase of selling

expenses.
