Woman: It's nice that the weather's cooled down a bit. I simply die in the heat.

Man: I didn't mind the cooling down, but there was a bit too much water for my liking. The construction next door to our place must've clogged up the drainpipes.

Woman: Oh, no! I hope you didn't get flooded.

Man: Unfortunately. Problem is I got home last night really worn out and just dropped everything the moment I got through the door. When I got up this morning my notebook was submerged. All my work is on the hard drive.

Woman: Have you checked whether it still works?

Man: Not as long as it is not completely dried out. I'm not so sure it would be a good idea to take the blow drier to it.

Woman: I don't know, but when Jake has a problem he takes his machine over to Carlos from engineering.

Man: Do you think he would mind checking out my notebook? I'd pay him of course.

Woman: I'm sure Carlos would be glad to. He's a real angel and I'm sure he'll do it for free.
