Thai fruits to be ready for US market
Six Thai radiated fruits would be exported to the United States early next month and their export volume is expected to reach 20,000-30,000 tonnes per year.
The National Bureau of Agricultural Commodity and Food Standards said on Thursday that US Agriculture Department's expert Ian Winborne is here to certify the Kingdom's radiation centre for fruits.
If it is certified, the bureau would start exporting the six targeted Thai fruits - mango, longan, lychee, mangosteen, rambutan, and pineapples - early next month.
