AEC lawyer Monthien Charoenphol said Noppadon had defamed the panel while speaking on behalf of Thaksin and his family members by claiming they intended to take legal action against them using false evidence.

The police accepted the complaint and would take some time to consider if the panel was defamed, Police Colonel Jaruwat Waisaya said.

Meanwhile, Somporn Phongsuwan, a lawyer for Thaksin's wife Pojaman, informed the AEC that she had postponed three appointments with the panel in regard to her appeal to cancel an AEC order to freeze her assets. The appointments were scheduled for Wednesday, October 24 and 31.

Somporn said he needed more time to prepare documents the AEC required.
