Baht up on capital inflow

Pongpen Ruengvirayudh, senior director of the Bank of Thailand, said on Wednesday that the baht appreciation is driven by the renewed capital inflow into the stock market and the usual sales of US dollars by exporters.

She added that the baht has been quite stable, though, following the imposition of the capital control measure. The baht on Wednesday opened at Bt34.15-Bt34.16 before falling slightly to Bt34.17-Bt34.18 at 14.00 pm.
