Many of them might look unnecessary and incapable of working well, but they certainly do their job. Let's consider some of them in detail.

If you want perfectly customised multi-channel sound, the Alpine PXA-H701 is what you need. It is the ultimate way to add multi-channel music with sophisticated digital sound processing to any system.

You can enjoy multi-channel movie sound with Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic II and DTS Digital Surround decoding through eight discrete channels. It employs the Burr Brown DAC 96kHz, 24Bit system. The PXA-H701 has a 17-band digital parametric equaliser and a 31-band graphic equaliser with sub-woofer crossover slope of 6, 12, 18, 24 and 30dB.

The Zapco SP4-SL is a hi-fidelity pre-amp with 4-band equalisers and volume, fader, sub-level and 16-volt line driver via balanced DIN cables. It can programme band equalisers in fine details in the 40Hz, 125Hz, 1KHz, and 12KHz frequency ranges. The fine-tuned details give a dramatic boost to sound quality. It is also equipped with sub-woofer crossover slope from 30Hz to 300Hz, which is needed for high-end car-audio systems.

It will give your system a good mid-range sound.

You might also like to add a smart navigation system to your car. The Kenwood KNA-G430TH is a high-performance navigation system using GPS technology with user-friendly controls. It has touch-screen control on a variety of Kenwood monitors and comes equipped with text-to-speech voice guidance in both Thai and English - like having someone navigating from the passenger seat. Built-in Thailand map data includes information such as restaurants, airports and fuel stations. The Kenwood KNA-G430TH is quite accurate, and has a trip computer featuring current, average and maximum speed and time display, multi-destination search and route variations for faster time, shorter distance or off road.

Last, but not least, is the Pioneer CD-i200 iPod adapter cable for Pioneer head units. You may have to ask installers about its compatibility if the head unit is not a Pioneer model. The CD-i200 lets you control an iPod via a compatible Pioneer in-dash stereo by sending song, artist, album and time information to your stereo's display.

Some people like to install large transformers with oversized capacitors or a battery in order to have electrical energy in reserve to produce the dynamics necessary for the music. Whatever you choose, do not forget that money is a major consideration with all of these "gadgets".
