Nuclear plan ready on Oct 18

National Energy Policy Committee will receive a nuclear power development proposal on October 18, said chairman of a committee tasked to carry out the feasibility study for such project.



Kopr Krittayakirana said on Monday the nuclear power infrastructure establishment plan is completed after five months of study. A number of sub-committees were established to study all elements of the development and carry out discussions with local and forign experts and the International Atomic Energy Agency, as well as a public hearing on October 14.

 Nuclear power generating is included in the power development plan during 2007-2022. While the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand is charged to carry out the development of two nuclear power plants with total capacity of 4,000 megawatts, its affiliate Electricity Generating Plc has shown interest in bidding for such development.
