All for a good cause

The Newsmakers Group - a collective of media and public relations professionals as well as prominent personalities intent on contributing to society - is holding a charity sale of new and nearly new items.

The event will be held at Four Seasons Hotel on October 20 from 10am to 6pm.

More than 40 booths will be selling a wide range of products, including clothes, accessories, books, toys, sports gear, kitchenware and various home decor items. There will be new as well as slightly used items guaranteed to be in good working condition and starting from Bt20.

There will also be a corner selling brand-name items donated by well-known personalities at low prices. Among the prominent people contributing goods to the event are Bilaibhan Sampatsiri, Rapeepan Luangaramrut, Atchara Tejapaibul, Intira Thanavisuth, ML Poomchai Chumbala, Chitramont Techapaibul, Tipaporn Ajanant, Vee Mar, Khunying Chodchoy Sophonpanich, Khunying Tipyavadi Pramoj and Supornthip Chuangrangsi as well as expatriate members of international women's groups.

The highlight will be a silent auction offering some rare and valuable items including an exquisite blue lace from HRH Princess Petcharat, a gold ring from Thanpuying Putrie Viravaidya, a piece of light blue Thai silk fabric with gold weave, a stupa made of bronze from the North of Thailand and a wooden decorative piece painted in gold from Four Seasons Hotel.

The Newsmakers Group consists of Thailand Tattler editor Naphalai Areesorn; MR Usnisa Sukhsvasti and Prapai Kraisornkovit, editors of Outlook and Real Time sections of the Bangkok Post; freelance writer Cora Sukhyanga; interior designer ML Poomchai Chumbala; managing director of Sing Sian Yit Pao Chinese daily Netra Ruthaiyanont; director of public relations of Oriental Hotel Somsri Harnsiriswasdi; corporate PR and communications director of Dusit Hotels Lalana Santo; and public relations manager of Four Seasons Hotel Annabelle Daokaew.

Proceeds will benefit the Oncological (Cancer) Society of Thailand.
