Deputy Prime Minister Paiboon Wattanasiritham may return home on Monday and be back at work by the end of this month after undergoing a balloon angioplasty yesterday, Ramathibodi Hospital cardiology chief Dr Sarana Boonbaichaiyapruck said.
Sarana said Paiboon had been advised not to do any hard work or do anything that might cause stress after the surgery, because it could cause another heart attack.
"The Deputy Prime Minister's condition was satisfactory after we dilated his coronary arteries but we are worried that they might narrow 5 to 10 per cent in the future. I think it is better than nothing. If he was not treated his arteries would have risked being blocked 30 to 40 per cent," he said.
Paiboon has to return for a check-up at the end of next week.
