Thira/Sansern testify to NLA

Transport Minister Thira Haocharoen and Deputy Transport Minister Sansern Wongcha-Um testified to the National Legislative Assembly in the evening of Wednesday, insisting that they are doing their best as ministers.

Thira noted that in carrying out his responsibility, there are legal difficulties which state agencies must tackle, without interference from the minister.

Sansern admitted that some parties may not be properly informed of problems as the ministry has a brief period of services and it thus largely focuses on the broad famework. "If I have more time (during this testimony), I should have made them understand our work better," he said.

He also showed the concern over the attempt by Bannawit Kengrien, chairman of the NLA transport committee, in hunting for signatures for another censure debate against both ministers.

Sansern also noted that he submitted a book to some of the transport committee's members, explaining on key issues like the establishment of Thai marine fleet, contract renewal for Central Group, Airport Rail Link's construction extension, remedial measures for Suvarnabhumi Airport, and the land encroachment in Buri Ram.
