MOF finalises 2-3-digit lotto details

Finance Minister Chalongphob Sussangkarn will work with the Government Lottery Office on details of the two and three-digit lotto tickets, after the National Legislative Assembly approved the draft law to govern the lottery.

He said that buyers should maintain their rights in choosing their preferred numbers.

"We are considering two options: issuing lottos with preferred numbers and issue online tickets with fixed numbers. If the lottos with preferred numbers are chosen, there would be measures to prevent possible mishaps," he noted.

On some NLA members' caution that the legalisation of the lottos would promote gambling and that the issue should have been passed on to the next government, he said that as the majority approved the law, this should proceed.
