BoT drafts 2008 economic strategies

The Board of Trade has drafted the strategies to drive the economy in 2008, planning to submit the strategies to the next government.

Dusit Nontanakorn, vice chairman of the private organisation, said that next year the private and public sectors should join hands in boosting the economy when exports tend to decline. Thailand no longer depends on export incomes, he said.

"The private sector should play a role in driving the economy as it should take at least six months before the next government could adjust itself and work properly," he said.

The strategies will be announced to the public on November 8.
