Permanent secretary Dr Praj Boonyawongvirot said about 20 medical teams had been dispatched to flood-hit areas daily to assist flood victims.

More that 2,000 patients in Phitsanulok province and more than 1,000 in Phetchabun were treated from Thursday to Saturday, he said yesterday, adding that most of them suffered from colds, headaches and wounds.

There were about 20 cases of skin diseases, Praj said.

About 800 people in Phitsanulok were found to be suffering from hypertension, preventing them from getting enough sleep, he said. Psychiatrists were sent out yesterday to help these people.
