Marijuana bust
Police intercepted 512 kilograms of marijuana smuggled into Nakhon Phanom province from Laos early yesterday morning.

Mongkol Khanajote, 29, and Bansorn Dejhome, 40, were arrested and admitted they were hired by a man in Nakhon Phanom to take the drugs from the Thailand bank of the Mekong River to a man in downtown Nakhon Phanom.
Following a tip, police staked out the river bank at Ban Klang Noi village in Tambon Ban Klang of Muang district.
Police found six Laos nationals unloading 16 sacks of marijuana from a boat.
They fled when the police arrested the two local men when they arrived in a pickup vehicle.
