Suspected accomplice surrenders

Fears alleged hirer in murder attempt out to silence him

Published on October 7, 2007

A man implicated in the murder of a dissatisfied Bio Clinic patient yesterday surrendered for an earlier case of attempted murder, out of fear that the person alleged to have hired him in that case wants him silenced.

Chaiyaporn "Toei" Kasikorn, 28, turned himself in to Pol Colonel Warayut Sukwat, a superintendent at the Central Investigation Bureau.

An arrest warrant had been issued for Chaiyaporn on August 27 for extortion and the attempted murder of Banphot Udomsri in Ayutthaya's Wang Noi district on August 22.

Chaiyaporn was reportedly hiding out in Bangkok but decided to surrender following rumours that the person who had allegedly hired him in that attempt was now seeking a gunman from Chai Nat or Uthai Thani to silence him.

Prakob Seenak, a suspect in the September 13 murder of Bio Clinic client Raweewan Setarat, had named Chaiyaporn as his accomplice.

Prakob has confessed to killing three people - Raweewan, the other unhappy customer Charnwit Charnrattanachai last November, and Boonlue Rungrueng, a key witness in Raweewan's lawsuit against clinic founder Dr Phaisal Hengsawas.

Prakob has said he was acting on orders from Phaisal's younger brother, Sakda, who is on the run.
