Italian-Thai Development (Ital-Thai) is joining the next round of independent-power-producer bidding in Thailand.

The company favours development of a 700-megawatt coal-fired power plant and has identified a site on the banks of the Bang Pakong River.
The decision to develop a coal-fired project was reached after consultation with leading international experts in the field of coal utilisation and close cooperation with the International Energy Agency's Clean Coal Centre in London.
