Spurs fight back for draw, buy time for Jol

London- Tottenham came from 4-1 down to draw 4-4 Monday with Aston Villa and perhaps ease some of the pressure on manager Martin Jol.

Wearing a blue-and-white halved shirt to mark their 125th anniversary, Spurs took an early lead, but they conceded four goals in the space of 40 minutes - two of them the result of Paul Robinson mistakes - before mounting an extraordinary fightback.

Dimitar Berbatov put Spurs ahead with his second goal of the season, but Martin Laursen levelled within two minutes after Robinson had spilled a corner.

Laursen, who had previously only scored once for Villa in three years at the club, added a second as he deflected a Zat Knight header under the body of Robinson.

It got worse for Jol before halftime as Gabriel Agbonlahor scored a third, and Craig Gardner added a fourth after 59 minutes.

Pascal Chimbonda pulled one back after 69 minutes after Jermain Defoe's effort came back off the post, and Robbie Keane converted an 81st-minute penalty.

Spurs poured forward and had their effort rewarded two minutes into injury time as Younes Kaboul crashed in the equalizer.

Tottenham remain in the bottom three, but the momentum, perhaps, has turned.
