Gang-rapists sentenced
Two men were yesterday given prison terms by the Ratchadapisek Criminal Court for gang-raping two teenage sisters in Bangkok last May.
Krisada Samla, 19, was sentenced to seven years and four months, and Jatuporn Saeng-uthai, 24, was given a life sentence. The court reduced Krisada's sentence from 13 years and four months after he confessed.
The court also dismissed charges against a third defendant, Thanapat Klarit, 20, because the evidence against him was weak. The court heard that Thanapat looked like a friend of Krisada, who committed another rape, but both Krisada and Jatuporn denied knowing him.
During the trial, the court heard that on May 18 and 19 last year, Krisada and Jatuporn along with several other accomplices lured two sisters, aged 13 and 15, to a location in the Don Muang area and gang-raped them. Police later arrested the three but while Krisada confessed to the crime, the other two denied the charges against them.
