He said the board had decided to raise the sum covered by the SSO Compen-sation Fund from Bt35,000 to Bt45,000 per case, and from Bt200,000 to Bt300,000 for chronic cases.
He said the move was being considered by the Council of State and he expected it to be enforced by year's end.
Private Hospital Assoc-iation executive Dr Pipat Pongrattanamarn urged the SSO to help solve problems caused by its contract with 261 private hospitals. Under the contract, private hospitals can only charge 30 per cent of total treatment cost for doctor's fees.
