Deputy Prime Minister and Industry Minister Kosit Panpiemras has been assigned to oversee the Information Communication and Technology (ICT) Ministry.

Despite the resignation of five ministers, Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont proposed for the appointment of only one ministerial replacement - Sonthi Boonyaratglin, as deputy prime minister for national security.

Earlier, Commerce Minister Krirk-krai Jirapaet said he alone could handle the task at the ministry and he did not need a deputy. His deputy Oranuj Osatananda resigned on a business shareholding issue.
