Terry to have surgery on cheek

London- Chelsea have confirmed that John Terry will have surgery on his cheekbone Sunday after suffering a depressed fracture in his side's goalless draw against Fulham.

The England captain did not suffer a concussion, and could be back in training next week, although he is likely to be out of first-team action for several weeks, and could miss England's Euro 2008 qualifiers against Estonia and Russia next month.

Terry suffered the injury in a first-half clash with Fulham forward Clint Dempsey, but played on until half-time when he was substituted.

On another bad day for the club, Didier Drogba was sent off for two bookable offences as they failed to break down their west London rivals.

Two Premier League games since Avram Grant replaced Jose Mourinho have brought a single point.

Chelsea lie seventh in the table, having already dropped 12 points from eight games this season. In the past four years, the team winning the league has dropped an average of only 22.75 points over the whole season.
