Supporters of former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra will today launch a radio station and have warned the authorities not to obstruct their broadcasts.

"The management of People Television [PTV] is set to launch radio broadcasts via its website that will be relayed by other community radio stations nationwide," group spokesman Jatuporn Prom-phan said yesterday.

The management - comprising Veera Musigapong, Jakrapob Penkair and Natthawut Saikua - will outline details today, he said.

He ruled out speculation that the programmes would promote the People Power Party, the new home of disbanded Thai Rak Thai Party members and pro-Thaksin politicians.
