SET ends 1.1% higher

The Thai stock market jumped 1.10 per cent at the close of market on Wednesday as investors hope that the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) would cut its key interest rate in October's meeting.



The SET index was in volatility sessions. It started the day with a mild fall before recovered to end the market at 844.40. At one point, it peaked at 845.03. Turnover was moderate at Bt22.12 billion.

 PTT Plc (PTT) was up 1.21 per cent at Bt334, Thai Oil Plc (TOP) surged 2.92 per cent at Bt88, PTT Exploration and Production Plc (PTTEP) remained unchanged at Bt1237, Thoresen Thai Agencies lost 0.85 per cent at Bt58, and Bangkok Bank (BBL) rose 0.85 per cent at Bt119.
