Commerce: August exports as high as shown
The Commerce Ministry on Wednesday insisted that the export growth of 17.9 per cent year on year in August was contributed by the high order volume, not mainly from the re-export of two nuclear reactors, each worth about Bt10 billion, as explained by the Customs Department.
The ministry's spokesman Krisda Piempongsant said that the country registered high product orders during the last ten days in August.
Recently the Customs Department said the actual export growth in August was 6 per cent year-on-year. The department's figures were compiled by the volume of products cleared under the customs procedures, which was roughly 95 per cent of all export volume.
