Chalor is chairman of the selection committee. Ten people applied for the job.

Chalor said from the seven, a shortlist of three would be sent to the company's board for final consideration at its meeting tomorrow.

The new president will take up the post next Monday.

The candidates are Chana Yoothavorn, Apisak Boonthuan, Atsada Kaysornsuk, Sane Chaosurin, Chanin Yensudjai, Jirawat Pichaisrisawat and Samitphong Ariyawat.

The three applicants eliminated were Opas Phetmunee, Natthasin Chongsanguan and Sumas Wongsunopparat.

Canon sales up

Canon Marketing (Thailand) recorded first-half sales growth of 20 per cent in its Office Equipment Division.

Division director and general manager Soontorn Pantaramongkon said the growth raised the company's market share to 18 per cent.

"As we have achieved an 18 per-cent market share earlier than expected, this is a major success for 2007," he said.

Yesterday, the company launched five new multifunctional copiers for small-office and home use. Canon trains distributors to provide after-sales service. It said the company's Chiang Mai distributor had expanded into a full-service centre for Canon products.
