Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana debuts her Spring/Summer 2008 collection at the Paris Fashion Week on September 29. And she's already scented out gifts for her VIP female guests at the after-show dinner party at Opera Garnier.
The lucky ladies will receive the Princess' first fragrance, Eau de Parfum HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana.
The renowned royal designer spent around four months coming up with the main concept, the ingredients, the mix of notes, the name and the package design for her signature scent.
The perfume comes in a purple box with peacock-feather graphics. Inside, a velvet bag holds the perfume bottle, the neck of which is decorated with a purple band. The bottle top carries the peacock symbol of the princess' fashion label.
The creation of the perfume has been a delicate process, tiptoeing through copyrights on colour, scent and name, while still managing to represent the princess' personality and a blend of Thai and Western characteristics.
The top notes are made up of ingredients that include camphor, pomelo, blackcurrant and violet, all working together to create a first impression of sweet femininity.
The heart notes are a combination of freesia, peony, jasmine and peach, while the base notes - the true character of the fragrance - come from scented woods such as amber, cedar, sandalwood. Its special feature is the way the fragrance gradually changes until vanilla becomes the dominant remaining scent, giving a relaxing effect. A limited edition of only 650 bottles will be produced.
The VIP male guests in Paris needn't worry they're being left out - each will receive an embossed leather wallet as a memento of the occasion.
