The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) joined with nine hotels, five travel agents and two entertainment/theme parks along with Thai Airways International, Nok Air and TAT Southern Region 4 (Phuket, Phang Nga, Krabi) in the event.

The roadshow was led by Juthaporn Rerngronasa, deputy governor for international marketing, and Prakit Piriyakiat, TAT director for Asean, South Asian and South Pacific markets.

This year Indian arrivals are expected to reach 500,000 and generate Bt14,600 million in foreign-exchange revenue. - The Nation

KTB energy award

Krung Thai Bank's HQ was one of the winning entries in the recently concluded Asean Energy Awards 2007, an annual competition of the greenest and most energy-efficient buildings in the region.

The Asean Energy Awards is Southeast Asia's most prestigious annual awards programme that recognise outstanding works in the field of energy. Its aim is to provide international prominence and recognition to outstanding companies and individuals who consciously apply the concepts, systems and technologies of energy efficiency and conservation.

The programme was conceived for energy-efficient buildings to become showcases for others to replicate and promote. Entries are first vetted by the Department of Energy in each country. Winners are chosen through a competition by a board of judges from each Asean country. - Philippine Daily Inquirer, Asia News Network

The Big Picture

Leading members of the multibillion-baht-a-year meetings and conventions industry in Thailand will unite to hear expert advice on how they can enhance their competitive edge and market share.

A workshop entitled "The Big Picture" aims to attract over 100 delegates who will exchange insights into global trends, analyse successful case studies and improve the sales skills of those attending.

One of Thailand's newest meeting venues, the Centara Grand and Bangkok Convention Centre at Central World, will host the event on October 26.

The Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau, the Thailand Incentive & Convention Association, the Society of Incentive & Travel Executives and Diethelm Events all play a major role in the workshop. - The Nation
