Oil prices not to pressure inflation
Deputy Prime Minister Kosit Panpiemras insisted on Thursday that the higher oil prices would not pressure this year's inflation.
He admitted that the recent increase in oil prices would affect manufacturing cost, but it would not add additional pressure on inflation which is targeted to increase 3-3.5 per cent this year.
He also viewed that the Thai economy is in the better condition than in the past and the government has tried to stabilise economic growth and other figures to prepare for changes in the global economy.
On the expected increase in capital inflows, Kosit said it is cyclical and he believed that the Bank of Thailand has measures to manage the inflows.
