SET ends up 1.15%

Thai shares jumped 1.15 per cent at the close of market on Wednesday, propelled by the US Federal Reserve's surprised 50-basis point cut in its overnight rate.

The SET index was in euphorai for the entire day, it peaked 816.12 at one point before weakened to end the day at 811.79. Turnover was moderate at Bt19.21 billion.

PTT Plc (PTT) surged 1.92 per cent at Bt318, Thai Oil plc (TOP) was up 1.24 per cent at Bt81.50, PTT Exploration and Production Plc (PTTEP) increased 5.60 per cent at Bt132,and PTT Chemical Plc (PTTCH) was up 6.03 per cent at Bt123.
