The traffic was so slow that it took me two hours to travel the distance of two kilometers.
While being stuck in a small soi leading to the Srinakharin Road at around 11.20 am, a woman walked past and told me that, "The traffic jam began since 5.30 am. If you are going to the Tesco Lotus outlet (about 500 metres away), you had rather walk".
I smiled to her, nodding that I understood what she meant.
Anyway, I was not heading to the Tesco Lotus outlet that was within a walking distance.
My destination was The Nation building on Bang Na Trat Road, which was about seven or eight kilometers away.
While I was trying hard to find the fastest way to go to my office, I called my brother and got a good advice.
He recommended a detour, which finally allowed me to spend three hours to travel from home to office. On normal days, it took me only half an hour.
For my brother, he used to leave home at around 6.30 am and managed to reach his workplace before 9 am every day.
But this morning, he found himself just a few kilometers away from home at 9 am.
He then decided to drop by a petrol station and wait for the traffic conditions to ease. But he ended up spending two hours observing how the traffic was paralysed.
Finally, he made a u-turn too and got home.
