The Watermark, an award-winning restaurant alongside the Phuket Boat Lagoon, is hosting the eighth Phuket International Beer Fest next Saturday (September 22) - and you could stagger home with a prize.
The festival - launched at a time when the country was economically morbid following the '97 fiscal fiasco - continues to lift spirits with great ale.
For the competition, entrants must cough up Bt800 and supply 12 bottles or cans of beer - international only, nothing domestic. No two competitors can nominate the same beer. They're then given two minutes' bragging time to pitch the qualities of their beer.
The fun starts at 5pm and continues until everything or everyone is drunk. Visit WatermarkPhuket.com for more details.
