The gunman, hooded and armed with a pistol, entered the bank before shouting "Give me some money" and cocking his pistol.

The robber later jumped onto a counter and took a briefcase full of money from a teller, before fleeing on a motorcycle parked at the back of the bank. The branch had no security guards and is installing security cameras.

Witnesses said the gunman was of moderate height and build. Pathum Wan police said witnesses suspected a male stranger they had seen frequenting the bank could be the gunman, who is being hunted down.
