Banpu goes ahead IPO plan for its Indonesian subsidiary

Banpu Plc will gear up its plan to list its Indonesian holding coal firm in Indonesia stock market by the fourth quarter this year after the US sub-prime mortgage woe hardly has impact on the plan.

Chanin Vongkusolkit, Banpu's chief executive officer, said on Wednesday that PT Indo Tambangraya Megah, would allocate 15 per cent of its paid-up capital to public through an initial public offering (IPO).

Its subsidiary now owns controlling stake in 5 coal miners in Indonesia, he said.
