SET ended 0.58% lower

Thai shares on Monday ended 0.58 per cent lower, tracking the regional losses prompted by the growing anxiety over the US economic slowdown.



The SET started the day with a tumble. It closed the market at 796.85, off the intraday's trough at 790.49. Turnover was thin at Bt9.71 billion.

 PTT Plc (PTT) and Thai Oil Plc (TOP) were unchanged at Bt312 and Bt78.50, respectively, Banpu Plc (BANPU) went up 0.68 per cent at Bt294, Thoresen Thai Agencies Plc (TTA) rose 1.94 per cent at Bt52.50 and Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) fell almost 2per cent at Bt74.
