Government spokesman Yongyuth Maiyalarp said Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont and his Singaporean counterpart Lee Hsien Loong expressed confidence that both bilateral and multilateral ties of their countries would always remain good.
The two premiers congratulated each other on the improved relations and pledged to continue cooperation on several projects for the benefit of people in both countries, the spokesman said.
Surayud also told Lee that Thailand's next prime minister could take office by late January, Yongyuth said.
"The Singapore prime minister asked when the next prime minister of Thailand will take office and Surayud replied that it could be late January," Yongyuth said.
In recent weeks, Surayud has assured foreign communities that the general election will definitely be held on December 23, even though some opponents of deposed premier Thaksin Shina-watra want the poll postponed.
