Soderling and Tursunov confirm return to Bangkok

  Both players reached the second round at the event two years ago but in 2007 they have been playing the best tennis of their careers, each enjoying their most successful year on the ATP Tour. Tursunov has spent all year in the world's top 30 players. He is currently ranked #27 and is the winner of two ATP titles: Mumbai in 2006 and Indianapolis earlier this year.     

   Off court Tursunov is one of the most popular players in tennis and has turned himself into something of a cult hero among tennis fans as a result of his hilarious blogs on the official ATP website.

   Soderling, who received some coaching early in his career from Swedish tennis legend Bjorn Borg, has also won two ATP titles and is currently ranked #32 in the world. In 2007 he has compiled wins over many top players including Fernando Gonzalez, Nikolay Davydenko and Marcos Baghdatis. The 24 year old turned pro in 2000 and has spent most of the last year and a half ranked in the world's top 35 players.

    Tursunov and Soderling are just the latest highly-ranked players who have confirmed their participation in the Thailand Open 2007. Other players confirmed to compete this year include world #2 Rafael Nadal, #3 Novak Djokovic, #5 Andy Roddick, #9 Tomas Berdych, #10 Tommy Haas, #15 David Ferrer, #30 Ivo Karlovic

    The Thailand Open will be held at Impact Arena, Muang Thong Thani from September 22-30.
