Thanachart ups 3-mth fixed rate

Thanachart Bank bucks the trend with the decision to raise its 3-month fixed deposit rates for all amounts of deposits by 25-375 basis points, to 2.625 per cent per annum.

Effective from today, the rate increase is aimed at drawing more deposits amid unclear outlook.

Other deposit rates are kept intact.

"This decision confirms our aggressive policy in deposit business and increase our competitiveness and maintain the client base amid fierce competition in the commercial banking industry," said Praphan Anupong-ongarj, senior director for product development.
