BOT symposium 2007 to hold in October

Bank of Thailand will be holding its annual research symposium under the topic "Managing Financial Risks for the Coming Decade" at the Shangri La Hotel, during October 3-4 this year.

The aim is to share with the general public key findings from recent research conducted by economists at the BOT and on this important topic, the central bank said in its statement.

At the final session of the seminar, there will also be a panel discussion joined by experts from the public and private sectors including Pisit Leeahtam, member of the National Economic and Social Advisory Council, Prasarn Trairatvorakul, president of Kasikornbank, Supavud Saicheua, managing director of Phatra Securities Plc, and Atchana Waiquamdee, deputy governor of the BOT. Bandid Nijathaworn, deputy governor of the BOT will moderate the panel discussion. - The Nation
