The Mummy Legends Ultimate Collection

The Story: The three episodes of this desert adventure kicked off in 1999 with a hit movie starring Brendon Fraser and Rachel Weisz.

Published on September 1, 2007

The sequels followed in 2001 and 2002. The action in the first two movies is fast-paced and wonderfully ghoulish, with director Stephen Sommers bringing a sense of fun and adventure to a classic horror tale. The special effects are truly superb.

The Mummy: Rick O'Connell is in Hamupatra searching for ancient Egyptian treasure with archaeologist Evelyn (Rachel Weisz) and her brother Jonathan (John Hannah). They find themselves in trouble when Evelyn accidentally awakens the 3,000-year-old Mummy, Imhotep (Arnold Vosloo), who is all set to resurrect his dead love Anuk Sun Amun (Patricia Velasquez) and is reluctant to let anyone stand in their way.

The Mummy Returns: Set about nine years after the events of the first film, Rick and Evelyn are now married and have an eight-year-old son, Alex. Strange things start happening after the corpse of Imhotep is resurrected in the British Museum and the Mummy walks the earth once more, determined to fulfil his quest for immortality. But another force has also been set loose in the world, one which is more powerful than Imhotep. When the two forces clash, the O'Connells are caught in the middle, trying to stop the evil and rescue their son before it is too late.

The Scorpion King: Chuck Russell directs this third film in the franchise, which goes back to ancient times when a mighty tyrant, Memnon (Steven Brand), ruled over the kingdom. An assassin named Mathayus (The Rock) is assigned to kill the tyrant's most dangerous asset, a seer who advises him where, when and how to attack, with deadly precision. Mathayus discovers that the evil leader's visionary is a woman, the beautiful Cassandra (Kelly Hu). Rather than kill her, he takes Cassandra hostage, deep into the desolate Valley of the Dead, where he rallies his allies and prepares them for a final confrontation with Memnon.

The Disc: Five discs are provided, with the first disc containing the first two films along with commentaries with the director and the actors plus downloadable content.

Disc 2 of "The Mummy" features "Building a Better Mummy Documentary", "Deleted Scenes",  "Visual & Special Effects", "Egyptology 101", "Highlights on The Mummy Returns", a storyboard and trailers.
