Retail oil prices to be increased

All oil retailers are jacking up the prices of all types of fuels by 40 satang per litre on Saturday.



After the increase, the octane-95 gasoline will be priced Bt28.79 per litre while diesel will be Bt25.74.

Light sweet crude oil for October delivery on Friday rose 11 cents to US$73.47 a barrel in Asian electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange, early morning in Singapore.

Amid price increases, Thailand's crude oil imports in July surged 11 per cent from June, according the Energy Business Department. However, year on year, the imports at 827,000 barrels a day dropped 1.4 per cent.

 Imports of refined products also dropped 56 per cent year on year and 39 per cent month on month.

Petrol demand in the month rose 3.6 per cent year on year to 19.93 million litres a day. Diesel consumption was also up 4.2 per cent on year to 48.26 million litres a day.
