SET ends up 2.73%

Thai shares on Friday broke through the 800-psychological barrier on a report that President George W. Bush is to announce a series of measures aimed at easing the mortgage crisis tonight.



The SET index started the day with a mild rise before headed further north to close at the day's peak at 813.21, or 2.73 per cent gain. Turnover was moderate at Bt21.57 billion.

 PTT Plc (PTT) rose 4.8 per cent at Bt306, Bangkok Bank (BBL) surged 3.5 per cent at Bt119, and Kasikornbank (KBANK) was up 3.3 per cent at Bt79.
