The energy minister Piyasvasti Amranan said yesterday that the ministry set the goal for the factories, including pig farms, to be able to produce the biogas from the waste water within three years.
The ministry has a plan to join with the relevant state agencies to develop the legislative in order to force the factories to convert their waste water into the biogas and it wants to see such law taking effect next year.
Thailand has a potential to produce the approximate one billion cubic metres of the biogas per year.
Piyasvasti made the remark during the seminar relating the production of the biogas out of the waste water to create the alternative energy and the environment protection.
