Eakmahakij's managing director Kampol Poolvoralaks said yesterday that the new branch would have a similar lifestyle concept as the first branch in the Victory Monument area, which has movie theatres, a shopping plaza, karaoke, restaurants and a food court. The branch might also have a similar size at 50,000 square metres.
He said although its competitors, which include Major Cineplex, had already expanded to many areas, there was still room for Century to fill in. The key point was that the new location should be easy for consumers to access.
The first branch was established in the last two years with Bt1.2 billion of investment. It currently averages 17,000 visitors per day.
Kampol expects the branch to generate Bt300 million in revenue by this year-end, of which 50 per cent would be contributed by theatres, 40 per cent from rental fees in the plaza area and the rest from karaoke and food courts.
