Anand appointed as SCB chairman
Siam Commercial Bank Plc (SCB) filed to the Stock Exchange of Thailand on Tuesday its board's resolution to appoint former Prime Minister of Thailand, Anand Panyarachun, as SCB's new board chairman, effective from September 1.

The move followed the resignation from the position of the existing board chairman Dr. Chirayu Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya.
Due to the appointment as chairman of the board of directors of Siam Cement Plc, Dr. Chirayu tendered his resignation as the SCB's chairman to comply with the good corporate governance that the chairman of a listed company should hold chairmanship of only one company. Dr. Chirayu is still a member of the bank's board of directors.
