Samsung reports 30% growth

Thai Samsung Electronics reported 30-per-cent growth in home-appliance sales to Bt2 billion in the first half of the year and announced it would launch more than 50 new models, including washing machines, refrigerators, microwave ovens and vacuum cleaners.

 It will also spend Bt250 million on marketing in the second half, in a bid to reach Bt4 billion in sales for the full year.

Chanvit Khieonavavongsa, marketing manager for consumer electronics, said the impressive first-half figure was due mainly to Bt150 million spent on marketing major appliances. - The Nation
