Alves hits out at Sevilla president for turning down Chelsea offer

Madrid- Daniel Alves hit out at the president of Sevilla Friday for turning down an offer from Chelsea for the Brazilian right-back.

Alves is quoted by the digital version of Sport as saying that Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido had promised him that he would accept "an important offer for him."

Alves says that Del Nido was originally going to accept an offer of 36 million euros (48.81 million dollars) from Chelsea for him last week, but then rejected it.

The dynamic full-back is now worried that Chelsea have lost interest in him, after signing fellow Brazilian right-back Juliano Belletti from Barcelona for 5.5 million euros.

However, Europe's top spenders Real Madrid - who have already spent 119 million euros on new players this summer - are still interested in Alves.

And Barcelona might also be tempted to come in with a late offer.

"It is the opportunity of my life" said Alves. "I want to leave, I am not going to let this chance pass me by."

Alves finished by saying that "I expected more respect from the person who runs Sevilla," referring to Del Nido.
