BOT plans to issue higher bonds than Bt40 billio.

The Bank of Thailand (BOT) plans to issue additional amount of BOT saving bonds from the initial expectation of Bt40billion after many investors have expressed their interest ahead of reservation dates. The government set the reservation dates for bonds on 27 this month.



The central bank's senior director Pongpen Ruengvirayudh said the BOT would issue the saving bonds further in case of demands were significantly higher than the issued bonds. She declined to disclose the amount of bonds.

 

The total bonds issued this year could be higher than Bt300 billion as originally expected. The timetable for sale is set to be announced soon.
