True Move, the mobile phone service operator in the True Corporation, reported strong operating results for the second quarter of 2007. The company added 953,000 new users, giving it a total of 9.1 million customers, or an increase of 68 per cent over the growth of the previous quarter.
The increase in customers is also reflected in the increase in True Move's market share, which has reached approximately 20% of the total mobile phone service market. Gross revenue from service fee for the quarter was 8,730 million Baht, an increase of over 75% from the same quarter the previous year.
True Move's performance in the quarter has validated both the organisation's convergence lifestyle strategy and the quality and reach of its network. The True Move network now covers over 92% of the entire population. With the continuing growth of non-voice services that has resulted from lifestyle marketing, the number of customers is expected to keep growing until the end of the year.
Suphakit Vuntanadit, Director of Marketing and Customer Experience Relationship Management - True Group, said during the quarter all non-voice and supplemental services generated income for True Move, with revenue from non-voice services increasing to 635 million Baht, a growth of 35.5 per cent compared to the same period last year. Profit from operations before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA), increased by 105.5 per cent over the same quarter last year.
